Bacolod-Iloilo-Guimaras with Paksyon Part 2

We took the 5pm ferry to Bacolod. Met this hardworking dog, sniffing all the bags to ensure the passengers' safety.

We arrived in Bacolod around 7pm. We were booked at the Northwest Inn. We were so tired but cabs and trikes just wouldn't let us ride on their normal rate. Good thing there was this manong jeep who was kind enough to take us to the inn at a minimum fee.

We took the roof deck room for more bonding time. Had some extra beds but still put some effort to rearrange the room so we could take our telenobela photos.

pang drama ito, bawal ngumiti!

Off we went to Robinson's Bacolod to find something to eat. We ended up at Chika-an in Central City Walk. Menu was Cebuano cuisine at Makati prices (but big servings). Again, no food pictures as we were really starving! Thanks Vannie and Markus for the dinner!

Checked out some bars in the Art District Bacolod. We settled in Bekita's Cantina (the name, i know right!) since their music isn't as loud as the other bars, and the fact that our ears can't bear loud sounds anymore. Yup, one of the signs of aging.

natuwa ako sa giant cheese balls

Joined some beer drinking contest... Markus, Felix and Joan made it to the list! I was disqualified since I gasped for air while drinking (sorry, I was still full from dinner).

The next day we checked out Mambucal Resort at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon. We went trekking to see the falls (there were 7, 2 were destroyed by typhoons but only got to see 4 since the last one was too far!).

bats! there were thousands of them!

we also tried this japanese-inspired hot spring

There were lots of other activities to try in Mambucal: kayaking, zip line, wall climbing, picnic, etc. Just didn't have the energy since the trek was tiring.

homeward bound

It was just a short stay in Bacolod but the experience was great. Wish I could come back to see more and eat more inasal!
